European Union Regulation Against Deforestation (EUDR)

In May 2023, the European Union approved Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on Deforestation-Free Products. Companies that trade these products must demonstrate they are not linked to deforestation.
The regulation aims to curb global deforestation by promoting sustainable land and forest use and requires due diligence: identifying product origins, assessing risks, and implementing mitigation measures.
