Star Workshop

Between the 25th and 29th of April 2022, Comexim, in partnership with the Brazilian headquarters of Starbucks Farmer Support Center, visited producers participating in the C.A.F.E. Practices program in the cities of Carlópolis/PR, Fartura/SP and Taguaí/SP. The visits were an opportunity to get to know up close their realities, challenges and difficulties in implementing and complying with the program's standards. The agenda was distributed between visits to the properties of several registered partners to understand the practical application of the C.A.F.E. Practices standards.

On April 28th, Comexim and Starbucks Farmer Support Center team promoted the workshop "Sustainability in farms: promoting social, environmental and lifestyle quality through C.A.F.E. Practices".

The subjects covered were:

• Presentation of Starbucks and its stores around the world.
• C.A.F.E. Practices - in practice and as a management tool.
• Social responsibility, labor legislation and NR-31.
• Case study using the profiles of the producers visited.

This event was attended by producers and representatives of the regions of northern Paraná and Baixa Mogiana. Still in partnership with Starbucks Farmer Support Center, Comexim held several online events for farmers from the Cerrado and South of Minas regions, as well as technicians and young people involved in coffee production. With these events, we seek to promote good practices among producers, addressing issues such as ethics, sustainability, and improved social well-being. These initiatives aim to strengthen ties with coffee growers, promoting a sustainable coffee culture, where we are all agents of transformation.
