Opportunities and training for collaborators

Aiming at the improvement, development and professional growth of its employees, Comexim offers undergraduate and graduate courses, training, lectures and conversation circles. Aiming at the improvement, development and professional growth of its collaborators, Comexim offers undergraduate and post-graduate courses, as well as workshops, lectures and group discussions.

Besides our Occupational Safety, Accident Prevention and Environmental Protection Weeks (SIPATMA), our in-house team promotes weekly Occupational Safety Workshops focused on fire prevention, organization and cleaning, as well as specific trainings such as refresher courses on safety, installations, electricity services, flammable and combustible products.

In the beginning of 2022, a leadership training program was held for professionals from the company's various sectors, conducted by a psychologist with a specialization in leadership development. The participants were introduced to self-knowledge, team building and management, and discussed relevant topics such as the pillars of leadership, how to apply feedbacks, and how to be an inspiring leader.

In July 2022, our in-house fire and rescue brigades were trained by PROJETO MEH.

The training was divided in two stages, theoretical and practical, and conducted by professionals from the Service Center for Workplace Safety and Firefighters and Professional Civil Firemen Training, which has been certified by ABNT for over ten years.

Every year Comexim, together with the Internal Commission for the Prevention of Accidents, promotes the Occupational Safety, Accident Prevention and Environmental Protection Weeks (SIPATMA), an event open to all the company's collaborators in which topics such as depression, the environment, licit and illicit drugs, occupational safety, sexually transmitted diseases, and motivational topics are discussed.

Producer Monitoring and Follow-up System - Application

Comexim promotes technical visits in order to monitor and apply improvements in the partner farmers' properties, providing cutting-edge content and innovative solutions for the coffee sector.
IThis is all made possible through a partnership between COMEXIM and the Federal Education Institute, IFSULDEMINAS –Inconfidentes Campus, a renowned school in the agricultural sector, that has been training young people and adults for over 100 years.

The mentoring visits promote the interaction between graduating students and their professors, PhDs in agronomy, providing practical experiences that will prepare them for the job market.
To farmers, COMEXIM provides all the guidance about improvements in their farming, adaptations to the coffee sustainability curriculum and to the certification standards, as well as the awareness and application of sustainable practices.

For managing documents and data of these properties, Comexim uses a digital system that makes it possible to extract traceability history and mapping of the registered partners from the planting to the final product in a simple, fast, and measurable way.

With this system it is possible to follow all the activities performed in the coffee plantation, such as soil management, planting, when and what amount of pesticides were applied, harvesting, transportation, washing, drying, storing, and shipping. In addition to the insertion of all data with the aim of proving each item covered in the self-assessment, photos, documents, and pertinent notes are attached to each topic evaluated by the consultant, as well as an action plan to deal with each non-compliant item.

At the end of each inspection, a report is generated that shows the producer's SCORE against the sustainability standards, as well as all the recommendations for improvement suggested by the technician, allowing a broad evaluation over the years. The producer also receives a copy of the report so that he has a detailed view of all the topics covered and which ones need to be improved.
Thus, at each visit it is possible to trace the evolution of the property, through a database of all inspections carried out over time.

Projects under development with clients

Comexim, in partnership with its clients, promotes actions to improve the lives of small producers and the development of their communities. Examples of these actions are:

Acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment

Electronic selectors

Comexim has recently acquired state-of-the-art electronic selectors, which remove defective beans (PVA - Black, Green and Burnt), allowing for a greater flow within the company.
This equipment works with a compressed air injection system that, by means of LED lamps, can separate these types of defects based on their coloration. At Comexim we keep investing to offer the best coffee quality.

WMS

A Comexim iniciou o projeto Comexim has implemented the WMS project, a computerized warehouse management system that monitors on time all the movement and positioning of coffee lots by means of RFID smart tags (tracking system by radio frequency using Wi-Fi), on the bags, on the floor and on the forklift readers, integrating the information with the Protheus ERP system.
This system optimizes handling, ensuring the accuracy of information, avoiding the mixing of lots, guaranteeing the initial quality of the coffee received, and of the final coffee to be shipped according to the specifications of each client.
